La discapacidad interseccionada con factores de vulnerabilidad sobre trabajadoras en Puerto Rico y su análisis desde la política pública vigente en el año 2023

Abstract

Resumen. El presente estudio pretende develar las significaciones desde las experiencias de la discapacidad interseccionada con otros factores de vulnerabilidad, escuchando la voz de sus protagonistas: trabajadoras en Puerto Rico. Esto permitirá conocer, comprender y analizar: 1) ¿cómo esas mujeres interpretan y afrontan sus realidades?; y 2) ¿cómo el contexto socio-político y económico en que están inmersas incide en su ser, pensar y actuar? Así mismo, se propone analizar críticamente, cómo se aborda esta problemática desde políticas sociales vigentes para el año 2023 en la Isla, y de qué manera esta respuesta institucionalizada del Estado impacta. Se presenta el desarrollo de una investigación cualitativa mediante estrategia narrativa, como forma alternativa emergente en la producción de conocimiento en las ciencias sociales. Para lograrlo, el proceso de recolección de información se realizó mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas y a profundidad, así como, el compendio del contenido de disposiciones jurídicas que integran la política social que será objeto de estudio. De esta manera, fue posible conocer a profundidad las interpretaciones, significaciones, vivencias reales de este colectivo de mujeres, mediante el análisis crítico de sus experiencias apalabradas y recogidas a través de las entrevistas y de los elementos subyacentes en el discurso oficial de las políticas sociales analizadas. Finalmente, se rescataron las aportaciones de las participantes frente a sus inquietudes y necesidades, y se llegó a algunas conclusiones y recomendaciones, incluso sobre las políticas sociales analizadas.

Abstract. This study aims to reveal the meanings from the experiences of disability intersected with other vulnerability factors, listening to the voice of its protagonists: female workers in Puerto Rico. This will allow knowing, understanding, and analyzing: 1) how these women interpret and face their realities; and 2) how the socio-political and economic context in which they are immersed affects their being, thinking, and acting. Likewise, it is critically analyzed how this problem is addressed from social policies in force for the year 2023 on the Island, and how this institutionalized response of the State impacts. Qualitative research was developed through a narrative strategy, as a way emerging alternative in the production of knowledge in the social sciences. To achieve this, the information collection process was developed through semi-structured and in-depth interviews, as well as the compendium of the content of legal provisions that make up the social policy that will be the object of study. In this way, it is possible to know in depth the interpretations, meanings, real experiences of this group of women, through the critical analysis of their verbalized experiences and collected through interviews, and of the underlying elements in the official discourse of the policies. social analyzed. Finally, it is expected to rescue the contributions of the participants in the face of their concerns and needs, and to propose some conclusions and recommendations, including on the social policies analyzed.
