Literatura infantil sobre familias homoparentales publicada en países hispanohablantes: Catálogo digital.

Abstract

Este proyecto: Literatura infantil sobre familias homoparentales publicada en países hispanohablantes: Catálogo digital, responde a la necesidad de incluir literatura infantil sobre familias homoparentales en el contexto educativo a los fines de visibilizar a estas familias y, a la vez, brindar espacios en los que niñxs de familias homoparentales se vean reflejadxs en la literatura. Para la realización de este este proyecto, se analizaron documentos, se consultaron autorxs, editoriales, bibliotecas y páginas web con el fin de recopilar, documentar, reseñar y analizar críticamente la LIJ sobre familias homoparentales. En total, se encontraron veinticuatro libros distribuidos de la siguiente manera: catorce libros de España, cuatro de Argentina, uno de Chile, tres de México, uno de Perú y uno de Puerto Rico. La influencia de sociedades conservadoras y religiosas se hace evidente en la publicación y divulgación de LIJ sobre familias homoparentales. Se encontró que hay más textos con madres (16) que con padres (7): Por otro lado, ocho libros mencionan el origen de la familia: uno por adopción, cuatro por reproducción asistida y tres de familias reconstituidas. Del total de libros, solo ocho muestran interseccionalidad: seis tienen personajes indígenas o negrxs, y dos incluyen personajes con diversidad funcional. Tres de los libros son respaldados por instituciones gubernamentales o sin fines de lucro; quince son publicados en editoriales o asociaciones especializadas en literatura para la equidad social o en editoriales LGBTTQI+, nueve de ellos fueron publicados en editoriales no especializadas y uno fue autopublicado. Según los autores y las editoriales, la publicación de libros acerca de familias homoparentales responde a la falta de libros sobre este tema, razón por la cual también se fundan editoriales LGBTTQI+. En este trabajo se concluye que es necesario identificar y divulgar la existencia de la LIJ sobre familias homoparentales. Por ello, se crea el catálogo Peque familia arcoíris disponible a través de Google Sites (https://sites.google.com/view/peque-familia-arcoiris/home?authuser=0)

This project: Literatura infantil sobre familias homoparentales publicada en países hispanohablantes: Catálogo digital (Children’s literature on same-sex families published in spanish speaking countries) responds to the necessity of including children’s literature on same-sex families in educational contexts, with the purpose of raising awareness of their existence, and providing spaces in which the children in these families see themselves reflected in literature. In the creation process of this project, documents were analyzed, authors, publishing houses, libraries, and websites were consulted, with the purpose of gathering, documenting, reviewing, and critically analyzing children’s literature on same-sex families published in spanish speaking countries. A total of twenty-four books were found in the following distribution: fourteen books in Spain, four books in Argentina, one book in Chile, three books in Mexico, one book in Perú, and one book in Puerto Rico. This makes evident the influence of conservative and religious societies in the publishing and disseminating of children’s literature on same-sex families. It was found that more books were headed by mothers (16), than fathers (7). As well, eight books mention the family’s origin, with one adoption, four assisted reproductions, and three reconstituted families. From the all the books, only eight show intersectionality: six by way of black or indigenous characters, and two by representing characters with disabilities Additionally, three of the books are backed up by governmental institutions or nonprofits; fifteen are published by associations or publishing houses that specialize in literature for social equality or LGBTTQI+ themes, nine in non-specialized publishing houses and one was self-published. According to the authors and publishing houses, the publication of this type of literature is attributable to the lack of children’s literature with the topic, and furthermore leads to the foundation of publishing houses with LGBTTQI+ themes. This investigation leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to identify and disseminate the existence of children’s literature on same-sex families. Due to this conclusion, the digital catalog Peque familia arcoíris (Lil’ Rainbow Family) , available through Google Sites (https://sites.google.com/view/peque-familia-arcoiris/home?authuser=0) was created.
