The objective of this study is to approach a definition of the concept of Agenda Trending making use of netnography for data collection and analysis, supported by the criteria of newsworthiness and virality that are part of journalism and digital culture today. The interaction of social networks with conventional and / or formal media information spaces has been analyzed from various methods, but in this work we propose to theorize them by identifying the processes prior to the establishment of a public agenda that we call the Trending Agenda, which arises of the interests of users on the network who are critical through the social network Twitter and taken by the media, which, for the purpose of this study, are the digital versions of the oldest newspapers in Ecuador.
