Reconectar comunidades de Bayamón a través de la recuperación de espacios desaprovechados: propuestas para una ciudad más inclusiva y cohesionada

Abstract

This final degree project is focused on analyzing how the recovery of underutilized urban spaces can contribute to strengthening social cohesion, as well as improving the economic and safety conditions of fragmented communities. Through this research, the project seeks to explore the potential for transforming neglected or underused areas into spaces for community gathering, integration, and development. The study focuses on the municipality of Bayamón, specifically in the area surrounding the Expreso Río Hondo and the train station, where a lack of connectivity and urban fragmentation have created both physical and social barriers between different sectors of the community.
