Memoria existencial: relato del espíritu del lugar en Tras Talleres y su concretización arquitectónica

Abstract

Frente a la volatilidad del presente, la necesidad del ser humano de habitar un lugar donde depositar significado se vuelve más urgente. Tras Talleres, barrio de Santurce con una historia activa de más de un siglo, ha sostenido un espíritu del lugar distintivo a través de su identidad comunitaria, prácticas culturales y organización comunal. La investigación aplica la teoría del espíritu del lugar para analizar el barrio y como herramienta de diseño para un centro de conservación cultural musical que concretiza su significado, fortalece la memoria colectiva e identidad, y provee un lugar donde futuras generaciones evolucionen su herencia.Faced with the volatility of the present, the human need to inhabit a place where meaning can be deposited becomes more urgent. Tras Talleres, a neighborhood in Santurce with an active history spanning more than a century, has sustained a distinctive spirit of place through its communal identity, cultural practices, and community organization. This research applies the theory of the spirit of place to analyze the neighborhood and as a design tool for a musical cultural conservation center that concretizes its meaning, strengthens collective memory and identity, and provides a place where future generations can continue to evolve its heritage.
