Abstract
Esta investigación explora la rehabilitación
adaptativa de la Escuela Ofelia Díaz Rodríguez
en Vega Baja como estrategia para atender la
necesidad de espacios educativos, recreativos
y comunitarios para niños y adultos mayores.
A través del análisis de contexto, literatura,
encuestas y estudios de diseño educativo flexible
e intergeneracional, se propone transformar la
escuela abandonada en un centro de aprendizaje
y convivencia comunitaria. La propuesta integra
talleres educativos, áreas recreativas y hospedaje
para adultos mayores y maestros retirados,
promoviendo la conectividad urbana, la memoria
colectiva y la revitalización social del sector
Algarrobo.
This research explores the rehabilitation of the Escuela Ofelia Díaz Rodríguez through adaptive reuse as a response to the lack of educational, recreational and community spaces. Through contextual analysis, literary review, survey , and studies on flexible and intergenerational educational design, this proposal transforms the abandoned school into a center for learning and communitarian coexistence. This proposal integrates educational programs, recreational areas and accommodation for older adults and retired teachers, in order to promote urban connectivity, collective memory and the social revitalization of Sector Algarrobo.
