Abstract
El proyecto Conector Verde – Nuevo Pulmón Urbano Generador de Espacios de Usos Mixtos busca la revitalización de la estación Roosevelt del Tren Urbano en San Juan, Puerto Rico mediante el desarrollo de un entorno seguro, accesible y funcional. La intervención integra infraestructura peatonal y ciclista, amplias áreas verdes, comercio, vivienda en formato co-living y oficinas gubernamentales, promoviendo la interacción entre comunidades laborales, estudiantiles y residenciales. Esta propuesta no solo incentiva el uso del transporte público, sino que también mejora la percepción de seguridad y dinamiza la economía local. A través de una planificación urbana sostenible, la estación Roosevelt se consolidará como un nodo estratégico de conectividad y desarrollo, estableciendo un modelo replicable para la regeneración de otros espacios urbanos en Puerto Rico.
The Green Connector – A New Urban Lung for Mixed-Use Development project seeks to revitalize the Roosevelt Station of the Tren Urbano in San Juan, Puerto Rico, by creating a safe, accessible, and functional environment. This intervention integrates pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, expansive green spaces, commercial areas, co-living housing, and government offices, fostering interaction among working, student, and residential communities. This proposal not only encourages the use of public transportation but also enhances the perception of safety and boosts the local economy. Through sustainable urban planning, Roosevelt Station will be established as a strategic hub for connectivity and development, setting a replicable model for the regeneration of other urban spaces in Puerto Rico.
