"Broken Hymens in Angela Carter's 'The Bloody Chamber'" analyzes popular symbols in her anthology to determine Carter's views on femininity and sexuality in fairy tales. The author argues that Carter reframes female sexuality by questioning traditional fairy tale narratives and explores how Carter effectively rewrites them to reframe power relations that have conventional established gender roles.
